And so it arrived, this superb swedish abu ambassadeur 2500c "CT" , is going to be a fantastic tournament reel for one lucky field caster. This 1977 model has just been refitted with brand new original silver badged sideplates and as you can see it has undergone a very neat conversion.The removal of the levelwind system is a tried and tested way of reducing drag on the line whilst casting and also by taking away the top bar giving more room for the caster to control the spool with his or her thumb.This reel would benefit from a drop or two of rocket fluid and im sure you can make a splendid casting reel, nice light spool will spin freely sending those leads across the field.For the more adventurous amongst you, a certain Japanese website has a very neat mag conversion for these stunning little reels so performance can be controlled a little bit more should you wish? A great reel not only for casting but also for freshwater and light sea spinning, take a look and see...
